Refurbishment of Hollymount Garda Station way down the list

The refurbishment of the house attached to the Hollymount Garda Station is placed at number 42 on a prioritised list on the Garda Accommodation Programme, according to Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony.

Deputy O’Mahony tabled the question in the Dáil last week on foot of concerns in Hollymount over the delay in advancing the project.

“Being placed at number 42 on a priority list of housing needs is not very encouraging and I’ll be calling again on the Minister to expedite the process. I also intend to write to the Garda Commissioner highlighting the need for this work to be carried out as soon as possible. We are always being told of the importance of having a police presence in a local community and the people of Hollymount are anxious that the work is carried out on the house so that a member of the gardaí can live amongst them,” he said.
