Ballina’s Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new man to the helm at its annual general meeting on Tuesday, February 20.
The occasion saw outgoing president Paul Regan hand over the chain of office to the newly elected president Hugh Rouse.
Mr Rouse, of Rouse Insurance on Pearse Street, is a member of one of Ballina’s best known business families and follows in the footsteps of his father Kieran and uncle Ollie in wearing the chamber president’s chain of office.
The newly elected president assured members his door will always be open and said he was looking forward to working with his chamber colleagues, Ballina Municipal District officials and councillors, and the Mayo chambers group to achieve the goals for his tenure as president.
Ballina’s Chamber of Commerce has been operating for several decades and is now the third largest in Connacht.
