The Cripple of Inishmaan takes to the stage in Kiltimagh

Clann Machua Drama Group will present The Cripple of Inishmaan in the Town Hall Theatre, Kiltimagh, next weekend.

The play written by Martin McDonagh is a tragicomedy about life on Ireland's desolate Aran Island, Inishmaan, in 1934. The inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew's pending arrival in neighbouring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands.

‘Cripple’ Billy Claven, who is eager to escape the gossip, cruelty, and boredom of Inishmaan, vies for a part in the film, and to everyone's surprise, the orphan and outcast gets his chance... or so some believe. The play is directed by Sean Langan, assisted by Maggie Ruane.

Clann Machua Drama Group will perform the play on Thursday, February 15, Friday, February 16, and Saturday, February 16.

Tickets cost €12 and are available in Langan’s Off Licence (094 ) 9381234 or The Copy Shop, Aiden Street (094 ) 9382890.
