Mayo-born pianist Darragh Brogan performs at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday February 14 at 8pm.
Darragh Brogan began his BMus in 2009 at the DIT Conservatory. He enjoyed considerable success there, gaining first prize in all its major piano competitions, and also claimed regular prizes at the Dublin Feis Ceoil, including the Anthony Glavin Trophy in 2014.
Throughout his studies he participated in regular masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists including Barry Douglas, Graham Johnson, and Philippe Cassard. He graduated in 2013, receiving the prestigious Student Academic Excellence Award for highest overall result in the Conservatory.
He subsequently completed a Masters in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music in London (where he is now based ). Darragh Brogan has given many performances in prestigious venues around Ireland and the UK including the National Concert Hall, Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Boyle Arts Festival, and St Mary Abbot’s Church and St George’s Church in London.
