Claremorris artist's new exhibition opens in Ballina

The official opening of the new exhibition by Norah Brennan in the Ballina Arts Centre, took place last night. The exhibition entitled Moving Along is a series of abstract silkscreen works on paper by Claremorris-based artist Norah Brennan.

This new work reflects transition in both the life and the art practice of the artist. Concerns, frustrations, dreams, ambitions, and progress are portrayed in these introspective expressions. Shape and layered colour are central to this artist’s expression of her thought processes. The abstraction invites the viewer to engage on a personal level, drawing their own responses from the almost kaleidoscopic forms of the works. Norah Brennan graduated from GMIT in 2011 with a first class honours degree in fine art, printmaking and was awarded the Student of the Year, Printmaking Prize as well as the Lorg Fine Art Printmakers Annual Bursary.

The exhibition will run until Saturday, February 24. Admission is free and all are welcome. The exhibition will be open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
