Macnas artists' exhibition in Charlestown

In Sight is an exhibition of cross-disciplinary art work at Charlestown Arts Centre by artists associated with renowned Galway-based performance company, Macnas. The exhibition opens on Sunday, December 3 and runs until Friday, December 22.

The epic Macnas parades that grace the streets worldwide are created through a huge team effort and belief in a common vision. Though the artists work hand-in-glove with each other on making the parades, this exhibition is a unique coming-together of artists and their individual work. This one-off exhibit presents a rare opportunity to see the work of painters, sculptors, designers and performers who create magic on the streets year round.

This exciting exhibition features the work of over 25 artists based in Ireland and the UK: Angie Byrne, Pete Casby, Tommy Casby, Orla Clogher, Mikey Dawson, Orlagh de Bhaldraithe, Dave Donovan, Mary Doyle, Eugene Finnegan, Chris Gibbons, JoJo Hynes, Áine Lawless, Paul McDonnell, Dara McGee, Tom Meskell, Gavin Morgan, Ali Nightingale, Emma O’Grady, Michelle Ruane, Ger Sweeney, Lisa Sweeney, Cherie White, Bill Wright, Debbie Wright, Dave Young. Those attending can expect an eclectic mix of painting, metal work, sound and video installations, sculpture and textiles.

The exhibition will be opened by Noeline Kavanagh, artistic director of Macnas, on Sunday, December 3 at 6pm and will include a live performance by Turas Theatre Collective. For details of opening times contact Charlestown Arts Centre [email protected] or call (083 ) 8228279 or (086 ) 3836078.
