Banning of public drinking in Ballinrobe a step closer

The town of Ballinrobe is a step closer to banning drinking in public places with the preparation of bye-laws by Mayo County Council.

Ballinrobe’s bye-laws will go on public display shortly. The public consultation process will take six weeks with all the background work done at this stage, a meeting of the Ballinrobe electoral area committee were told on Monday.

The announcement was welcomed by Councillor Damian Ryan who said they should address the ongoing problems in the town and will be welcomed by the people of the town. He thanked the council for expediting the process.
