Mayo woman missing in Navan

The family of a Mayo native who has gone missing in Navan are appealing for the public’s help.

Margaret Mawhinney (formerly McHale ) from Silverbrook, Navan, Co Meath and originally from Brackwansha, Knockmore, Ballina went missing on Tuesday March 3.

When last seen Ms Mawhinney was wearing a dark knee length jacket, dark coloured scarf, grey trousers and brown shoes. She was seen walking towards Navan town on the Trim Road/Railway Road around 10.30am on the Tuesday.

Margaret is a sister of Michael McHale, Lisduvogue, Knockmore; PJ McHale, Brackwansha, Knockmore; Rose Traynor, Brackwansha, Knockmore; Pauline Campbell, Behymore, Ballina; Maureen Rowden Tallon, Bray Co Wicklow; Linda White, Birmingham; and Marion Fueloepp, Frankfurt, Germany.

She is married to Richard Mawhinney and they have two children: Ruth aged 17 and Stephen, 13, and they have been living in Navan for the past 20 years.

The family are hoping that someone, somewhere might be able to assist in their search for Margaret. Anyone with information or able to report a sighting should contact Navan Gardaí on 046 907 9930.
