Country and Irish legends Big Tom and Margo, along with folk singer Johnny McEvoy, headline the Galway Sessions in The Salthill Hotel. The Galway Sessions, hosted by Michael Commins, take place on Sunday November 5 and Monday 6. Johnny McEvoy has been active on the folk scene since the 1960s and even once supported the Rolling Stones. His performance on Sunday will be his debut at the Galway Sessions.
Also performing on Sunday will be Margo; Paddy O’Brien from Waterford; Antrim's Billy McFarland; Down's Caitlin Murtagh, making her Salthill debut; Eddie Lee from Kerry; Dan and Mary Sheerin from Westmeath; Kevin Prendergast, John McIntyre, Pat Keane, Mick Mulhern, Joe Forde, John Joe Deeley, and Caroline Cresham.
Headlining the Monday night is Big Tom, who needs no introduction. Also performing is Leona Williams, former wife of American country legend Merle Haggard, who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry numerous times; Dermot Hegarty, best known for his hit single '21 Years' and currently celebrating 50 years in showbiz; John Glenn, Tony Kerr and Pat McKenna, Matt Keane, Caitriona Ní Cheannabháin, Tomás Langan, and Barry Stuart, son of Gene Stuart.
The afternoon sessions are on Sunday and Monday from 3pm to 5.30pm, with music and dancing in the lounge after the concerts on both nights with Mick Mulhern and Friends.
