Sammi looks to become the Nose of Tralee

Its a busy time here in Mayo. We have the Mayo GAA senior footballers heading to meet Kerry in an All Ireland semi final, we have Mayo Rose 2017 Sandra Ganley representing Mayo at the Rose of Tralee International Festival, and now we have Sammi representing Mayo in this year's Nose of Tralee.

The Nose of Tralee is Pet Sitters Ireland’s annual pet competition to find one pet in Ireland to crown the Nose of Tralee. They are looking for a pet that might be the cutest in Ireland, the funniest in your county, or just simply adorable. Sammi is from Castlebar and is a three-year-old golden retriever who was adopted from MADRA just over one year ago. You can vote for Sammi by visiting petsittersireland.com/noseoftralee2017.

After her first couple of adoptions unfortunately did not work out, MADRA put out a special appeal for Sammi to find her a home. After reading about Sammi, Christine from Tots and Tails knew she wanted to help. When Sammi came to meet her and her family they instantly fell in love with her. They fostered her and inevitably that foster turned into an adoption. At first Sammi was very cautious, nervous, and had trouble trusting anyone. She didn't like anyone to get too close, especially to her face. After lots of TLC and attention she has learned to trust again and loves nothing more than cuddles and kisses. She is such a happy girl and her tail is always wagging. Sammi recently won a rosette in a dog show in the Most Glamorous Female category.
