James Kilbane autumn season of shows in Westport

James Kilbane invites you to join him for an evening sing along of Irish song, culture, and tradition every Thursday from August 3 for the months of August and September at the Plaza Hotel, Westport, starting at 9pm. In 2003 Phil Coulter considered Kilbane, “A diamond in the rough” and now James is a well known singer at home and abroad.

Kilbane has the vocal ability to sing every song so well. His vocal style will leave you breathless as he can mix traditional folk, Irish ballad, and country with effortless grace. There is realness to his voice and his choice of song reminds us of what is good about Irish life and culture. You will enjoy Irish classics as "Grace", "Fiddlers Green", "Go Lassie Go", "The Roads of Kildare", "Danny Boy", "Forty Shades of Green", "The Ferryman", "The Voyage", "Moonlight in Mayo" and many more.

This run of Westport shows follows a hectic year in which Kilbane has certainly been busy, with his 13th album, The Family Collection with Veritas Publications, Dublin, released earlier this month. He has just returned from taking part in the Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival in Ohio.

For the upcoming shows, Kilbane is going back to some of his best folk and Irish ballad roots. He is inviting his audience to join him and sing along to so many great Irish songs that are not often heard anymore and others that remain ever popular. The show will be engaging, memorable, fun and relaxed with an interesting selection of songs and a story or two. This is an ideal evening for locals and visitors alike who are holidaying in the region to enjoy a night of culture and fine Irish songs.

Show tickets are €15 and are available from Newport and Achill Sound Post Offices as well as the Plaza Hotel reception.
