Bullying on increase during recession

A seminar to be held in Castlebar next week will try to combat the problem of bullying at home and in the workplace, which according to research carried out by the Samaritans is increasing during these times of economic downturn, with one in four homes experiencing incidents of bullying and one in four employees being bullied in the workplace.

John Lonergan, governor of Mountjoy Prison, will be one of the keynote speakers to address the free public seminar in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, on March 12 at 7.30pm.

The principle aim of this seminar is to create a public awareness of the intrinsic dangers associated with bullying in general, and to hear from the panel of distinguished speakers on the night how best to confront bullying in the workplace, home, and school, and also how to address cyber and text bullying.
