At the Castlebar Area Committee Meeting on Monday it was proposed that €300,000 from a €390,000 social and economic fund will be put towards Castlebar’s Main Street refurbishments, boosting total funding for the project to €900,000 — with the town and county council also funding €300,000 each.
It was also agreed at the meeting that the remaining allocation of the economic and social fund will be distributed between Ballyglass Childcare facility and Bofeenaun Community Centre.
