Breaffy GAA Club will hold a special mass for support tomorrow evening, Wednesday, July 5 at 9.30pm for missing clubman David Gavin. David got into diffuculty swimming in the Candian provience of British Columbia on Friday afternoon last. Despite searches he has yet to be located. Members of his family travlled to Canada over the weekend.
In a statement, Breaffy GAA Club said, "Breaffy GAA are heartbroken to report that our good friend David Gavin is reported missing in Canada following a swimming incident.
"We stand with David's family, Girlfriend and his many worried friends and pray that David will be found soon and back in the safe arms of those who love him so much.
"You are all welcome to join us for a special Mass of support at Breaffy GAA Clubhouse on Wednesday, July 5 at 9.30pm."
Mr Gavin and his girlfriend emigrated to Canda in February of this year, the 25-year-old was a talented footballer who represented Mayo at minor and u21 level - playing in the All Ireland minor final in 2009 for the county as well as playing for the Breaffy senior side up until the end of last season.
