Stars of the future come to Mayo

Mayo is bracing itself for the influx of some of the most talented young football players in Europe next week when the the UEFA U16 Development Tournament takes place in venues across the county. The Republic of Ireland will take on Northern Ireland, Lithuania, and Denmark in the women's tournament, while in the men's tournament the Republic of Ireland will face off against Northern Ireland, Kosovo, and Denmark.

The games will take place from Monday May 15 to Thursday, May 25, with the women's event running first from Monday May 15 to Friday, May 19, and the men's from Sunday, May 21, to Thursday, May 25. The tournament will see games take place in Solar 21 Park (Milebush ), Ballina Town, Manulla, and in Westport United. The teams will all stay at Breaffy House Resort and will train in pitches across the county.
