This boutique, absolutely free, one day festival is happening tomorrow, Saturday, April 21 on the shores of Lough Lannagh in Castlebar. Founded by the Love Castlebar Crew in 2014 it has come a long, long, way from its humble beginnings as a Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Nestled in the tree clearings with views overlooking Lough Lannagh, two intimate stages will showcase Mayo’s amazing musical talent. The Grassy stage is headlined by Katie Cassidy, fresh off her victory in the national Le Crunch Apple of My Eye Song Contest. Artists include Dublin based Identity Thief, Niall Ó Riagáin, The Rolling Wave, Niamh and Dave, and young guns LEAN.
At The Cranny stage lose yourself in a story telling session or maybe find yourself in a drum circle. Music here is hosted by Aidan Bolger and his very talented friends. The Bata Fada Samba Band will delight revellers here too.
Ease yourself into the fun with Noga Yoga at Noon and then drop in to the Silent Disco Tent for a quick boogie to work up an appetite. Foodies are well catered for with Dúla Woodfired Pizza, gourmet burgers and crepes among the treats on offer.
Festival goers can bike, kayak, canoe, or even Dragon Boat their way around the lake, without getting wet. Land lovers are looked after too with more than 20 garden and adventure games spread across the festival. When you are worn out having fun, kick back with a 99 at the urban beach while the little festival goers have their faces painted, rummage in Ireland’s biggest dress up box, or learn to walk a tight rope.
