Anyone hoping to build, renovate or extend their home may be interested in the following initiative. The Simon Community and the RIAI have teamed up to provide a one hour architecture consultation in return for a donation of €75 to the charity. The event is to take place on Saturday March 7. Five architecture practices in Mayo are taking part in the fundraiser: Axo Architects, Cox Power and Associates, Mark Stephens, McGann Scahill and Studio Plus Two Architects.
The process allows for people to discuss ideas and receive general advice regarding the planning and construction process. There would be an emphasis on creative ideas, aesthetics and perhaps a chance to look at and discuss built examples proposed by the architect or the home-owner. The entire donation goes directly to Simon and their worthy work in supporting the homeless.
