CRCFM awarded new licence by BAI

Community Radio Castlebar FM (CRCFM ) has been awarded a licence by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI ) for a community sound broadcasting service for Castlebar and its environs for a ten year period running from this year until 2027

CRCFM was awarded the licence following successful negotiations between the station and the BAI, the current licence that CRCFM holds expires at the end of June this year. CRCFM has been broadcasting in Castlebar since its inception in July 1995 and they recently moved to a new premises which is located on Thomas Street in the town.

Welcoming the announcement, CRCFM station manager, Benen Tierney, said he was delighted for all the hard working volunteers and staff at the station, and said that CRCFM would now continue to serve the entire community of Castlebar into the next decade.
