Bereavement support service

Coping with the death of somebody close to you is always difficult. Despite the pain and confusion most of us manage to cope reasonably well. Sometimes, however, the option of being able to talk with a skilled bereavement support worker can be very helpful.

Family Life Services offers a free Bereavement Support service in Castlebar, Westport, Claremorris, Headford and Tuam. A simple telephone call can set up a meeting between you and a trained Bereavement Support worker who will give you the time and space you may need to help you cope.

Cathal Kearney, the director of Family Life Services, said: “Everybody experiences the death of somebody close to them in a different and unique way. What we are offering is the opportunity for people to talk with a skilled support worker in complete confidence if they feel this might be useful. People generally know themselves when they need particular support around a death”. For further information phone the Family Centre, Castlebar at 094 902 5900 or e-mail [email protected].
