Four Expressway routes in Mayo under threat

A suggestion in a new draft report by consultants on the future of Bus Éireann has suggest the closing down of the Exepressway networtk of intercity services due to the companies financial position. Details of the report were reported in The Irish Times today.

The Expressway services runs 22 different routes throughout the country, including four which services Mayo. Those routes are the (21 ) which goes from Dublin - Athlone - Ireland West Airport Knock - Westport and return the (22 ) Dublin - Airport - Mullingar - Longford - Ballina and return  the (52 ) Ballina − Westport − Castlebar − Galway and the (64 ) Galway-Ireland West Airport Knock-Sligo-Derry.

The 52 route is a very popular run, linking the three major towns in the county, Ballina, Castlebar and Westport with Galway city six times daily, Monday to Friday and eight times a day on Sunday's and public holidays.
