There is a gorgeous night of singing in prospect when soprano Eve Garavan performs at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday December 14 at 8pm.
Eve Garavan is a classically trained soprano from Castlebar. She has been a member of many musical groups including Anúna, Trinity Singers, Peregryne, Collegium, and the multi-award winning chamber choir New Dublin Voices. She has been a soloist in numerous choral concerts in both Dublin and Galway. She won first prize in the Feis Ceoil’s Mná competition in 2014 which is for Irish-language unaccompanied singing for women. Eve began her vocal training in Castlebar with mezzo-soprano Anne Marie Gibbons before continuing her training with Mary Brennan, music lecturer in the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
Eve sings with a purity that makes her performances captivating and unique. For this concert she will perform a selection of French songs, lieder, and opera arias from Handel, Bach, Schumann, Gounod and more, as well as a selection of Celtic music accompanied by a traditional Irish harp as well as a festive classic or two. She will be accompanied on the evening by both piano and harp.
