Beowulf: The Blockbuster comes to Castlebar

The unanimously acclaimed one-man show Beowulf: The Blockbuster comes to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Monday December 5 at 8pm. A father with some serious news to impart brings his son on a cinematic journey through an ancient tale featuring explosions, Spielbergian monsters, John Williams' theme tunes, and superheroes from Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones and Bruce Lee right back to the original superhero, Beowulf.

Written and performed by Bryan Burroughs, and the recipient of more five-star reviews than you could ever wish for, Beowulf: The Blockbuster emerged as the show to see at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Gripping, witty, poignant and vastly entertaining, this triumph of a play reminds us that life is not about how we die, but about how we live. A one-man show with an utterly compelling and charismatic performance from multi award-winning actor Bryan Burroughs, this ripping script combines humour, empathy, and raw emotion to give genuine goosebumps. A father’s final chance to connect with his son, this is a remarkable and unforgettable experience filled with emotional depth. You will be talking about this long after you leave the theatre.
