Thirty new jobs came on stream last Friday with the opening of Charlestown Service Station, conveniently located on the N17 just off the N5.
Store manager Adrian Feerick said that there was a strong local interest in the services that Supermac’s had to offer throughout the week so far.
“Supermac’s is in the heart of a lot of communities throughout the country and it became very obvious very quickly that our new store in Charlestown wasn’t going to be any different,” he said. “We opened at 12 and had our first bus in within the hour. They were the girls from St Attracta’s in Tubbercurry. We are delighted with the week so far and hope to develop strong links with our customers.”
A vast variety of food offerings is available for motorists including Supermac’s, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs, Mac’s Place Deli & Carvery, and Bewleys Coffee. The Charlestown Service Station also offers Top Oil fuel and a Spar convenience shop.
Owners of the site, Pat and Una McDonagh, focused from the outset on ensuring that the job creation benefit of the service station would be centred on the local area. “Supermac’s is delighted to bring 30 jobs to the area,” said Pat McDonagh. “We are thrilled with how the Charlestown Service Station has turned out.”
