Finbar Hoban Presents... a very special show at the Garbo’s Venue in Castlebar this Christmas with the announcement that Hermitage Green will be coming to the town. The band look set to play the Garbo’s Venue on December 27 as part of their Christmas tour in Ireland.
Having signed to Sony Music Ireland, the band have played to many packed venues in Ireland and the UK and there certainly seems to be no stopping them. Hermitage Green are an acoustic folk-rock group from Limerick. Formed in 2010, they quickly built up a large following through social media and relentless touring. Their debut EP 'The Gathering' reached number 1 in the Irish iTunes charts in September 2012. Buoyed by this chart success and an increasing number of sell-out shows, the band undertook a world tour taking in Europe, Australia, the US, the Middle East, and South Africa.
The band, though reluctant to categorise themselves, blend the narrative elements of bluegrass and traditional Irish music, with an arpeggio style owing as much to classical music as it does to heavy metal. Their curious arrangement of instruments carried with fast-paced African percussion and four-part vocal harmony, give Hermitage Green a distinctive live sound, helping them to captivate audiences the around the world.
This has been a massive year for the band which saw the release of the album Save Your Soul and the recent series of acoustic live EPs.
