The students of Balla Secondary School have been busy in rehearsals for this year’s musical production of Heavenly Mayhem. The cast, under the direction of Aisling Lyons and Joan King, have been busy preparing for what promises to be a great night of entertainment.
Based on the musical comedy Sister Act, Heavenly Mayhem tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody, she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found — a convent! Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
Production team members include Aisling Lyons as musical director and choreographer and Joan King as director. The stage is looking spectacular thanks to Louise Conroy, David Morrin, and Seamus Costello and their team of very talented art and woodwork students. Many other members of staff and the student body are also putting in much effort to ensure that the show runs smoothly.
This Balla Secondary School production is a guaranteed hit with its dazzling dance routines and songs inspired by Motown, soul, and disco. This funky musical will have the audience dancing in their seats. This is a night not to be missed.
The show will take place in Balla Secondary School Hall on Thursday December 8 and Friday December 9 at 8pm sharp. Tickets are available from the school.
