Nominate your granny to take part in the 2009 Granny of the Year contest in aid of Special Olympics Ireland. If she gives the best hugs, makes the tastiest cakes, or is simply the best granny in Ireland, Special Olympics Ireland wants to hear from you!
Local heats will take place in every county in Ireland. The winners of each county final will then progress to one of two regional finals and 12 grannies will then compete at the All Ireland final in May.
Each winning granny will receive a beautiful custom made award from Dublin Crystal and a selection of other super prizes. Honour your granny and get nominating today. The closing date for receipt of nomination forms is February 28. To qualify and to raise money for Special Olympics Ireland each granny must be sponsored by a minimum €250 by March 30. All funds raised from the contest will help continue changing the lives of people with an intellectual disability.
