A spectacular musical event celebrating God’s love for his creation will take place in Knock Basilica on Saturday and Sunday October 15 and 16. Entitled The Story of Love, this sacred concert brings together choirs from around the world, Italian singers and Irish musicians for a unique musical experience.
The brainchild of Dublin composer Willie Hughes, the concert is a lively and colourful four-part story of love, loss, forgiveness and reconciliation told through song and screen presentations. A human love story is paralleled by the story of the love God has for humankind and creation. The concert will be streamed live on the website of Pope Francis’ recently launched prayer app. The Pope’s video for the month of October, featuring his prayer intention will also be screened as part of the concert.
Following successful performances at Farmleigh House and Dublin Castle, The Story of Love concert has received support from Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown, Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam and Bishop Eamon Walsh as well as President Michael D. Higgins. The Knock Basilica concerts on October 15 and 16, 2016 marks the world premier for the Story of Love International Tour which commences in Spring 2017, with performances in St Patricks Cathedral, New York.Tickets for the Story of Love concert are available from www.ticketmaster.ie and from the Bookshop and Mass Card Office, Knock Shrine. For more information call (094 ) 93 88100/75030
