Irish TV, Ireland’s first international TV channel, will broadcast a live two-hour All Ireland special from the Park Hotel in Kiltimagh on September 13 from 8pm to 10pm. The Mad for Sam live show will air on Sky channel 191, Freesat 400, all free-to-air boxes, Eircom’s eVision 191 and online at www.irishtv.ie The special two-hour live show will feature interviews with former legends of the game, expert analysis from top GAA pundits, and all the excitement and atmosphere in the build-up to the big match.
Mayo GAA manager Stephen Rochford and players Donal Vaughan, David Clarke, and Stephen Coen will also give their final thoughts ahead of the big game. Irish TV will also give away two priceless All-Ireland Football Final tickets on the night with a special competition running on all Irish TV platforms and social media.
The programme will be presented by well known sports journalist Anthony Hennigan and former Rose of Tralee winner Maria Walsh. “Irish TV is based in Mayo and we have pulled out all the stops for this show. We have some of the best known GAA names in the county and country attending and it will be a wonderful showcase of all that is good about Mayo,” said producer Máirtín O’Reilly.
Mayo GAA stalwarts, club members, players and supporters will feature prominently from start to finish as Mayo go in search of their first All Ireland title since 1951. The two-hour live broadcast will also feature some of Mayo’s best-known and most acclaimed musicians, singers, and dancers including the most popular Mayo GAA anthems.
The Mad For Sam special will also look at the close links between Mayo and Dublin with a special message from An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, to be broadcast on the night. There will also be special messages and contributions from the Mayo diaspora in New York, London, Manchester.
