The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Autumn Walking Festival is taking place over three days from Friday September 23 and Sunday September 25. So make a note on your calendar as this is an opportunity to get the walking boots on and enjoy the spectacular late summer views and walk this beautiful trail taking in the wild Mayo landscape, with spectacular views of Croagh Patrick along the way.
The event will be of benefit to body, mind, and spirit and all in a good cause, it is partnering Western Care Association in its 50th anniversary year. Walkers can register online at www.iregister.ie/autumnwalkingfestival or can register on the day.
The first walk will take place on Friday September 23 and is a 20km walk from Balla to Ballintubber. Registration at 9am in Balla Community Centre. The meeting point is the car park in front of Corley's Pub, Ballintubber, at 8.30am sharp (everyone will be transported to the starting point in Balla ).
The second walk takes place on Saturday September 24 and is a 21km trek from Ballintubber to Aughagower. Registration is at 9am in Corley's Pub, Ballintubber. The meeting point is Aughagower village at 8.30am, parking at church (everyone will be transported to Ballintubber by bus ).
The third and final walk takes place on Sunday September 24 and is a 21km walk from Aughagower to Murrisk. Registration is at 9am at Aughagower Community Centre, the meeting point is in Murrisk, at Campbells Pub at 8.30am sharp, with transport to Aughagower.
