Sport a smile while you run for Cancer Care West

DeCare’s 15th Annual Sport a Smile Fun Run/ Walk is taking place in Claremorris on Sunday, August 28 at 11am. Normally a five mile race from the centre of the town, this year’s race will be a chip timed 8k race on Sunday morning, starting from near the athletic track on the Balla Road and finishing with one lap of the track. The new 8km route will be a good challenge for runners and walkers alike and it is also part of the Mayo AC 2016 Vodafone C&C cellular club league.

The event has raised over €135,000 for charity over the past 15 years, thanks to the support of the participants, local businesses and supporters. Maureen Walsh, CEO of DeCare Dental, said: "It’s always great to see people taking part, getting active and supporting a great cause at the same time. Over the years the DeCare Dental Sport a smile run/walk has become a true community event. We have supported a number of worthy organisations over the years and this year we are delighted to support Cancer Care West.”

David O’Donnell, regional manager Cancer Care West, said: "Cancer Care West are thrilled to be DeCare Dental’s employee charity of choice for 2016 and to partner with them on their Sport a Smile run. We acknowledge the huge effort that DeCare Dental employees put into this event each year to make it such a success."
