Minister of State for Regional Economic Development Michael Ring has been informed by Minister of State Sean Canney that funding of €189,270 has been approved for Crossmolina Minor Works which were submitted by Mayo County Council.
The works approved include: Crossmolina car park (€95,220 ) to construct wall, flood barrier, and associated works. Crossmolina walkway (€64,350 ) to remove shrubbery, new wall, floodgates, and associated works. Crossmolina Chapel St (€29,700 ) to repoint/repair existing stone wall.
Minister Ring said that funding had been allocated to start the works immediately, saying: “I am delighted that this funding has been put in place to start some of the works that need to be carried out to resolve the flooding problems in Crossmolina.”
