Castlebar Live presents nationally known folk singer, John Spillane, in concert this Sunday, July 31. The show will take place in Hoban's car park and is free to attend. Music kicks off at 6pm. and you will be kept entertained right through to 11.30pm. Castlebar band Jam Shugar will host the event and support acts include Uppbeat and Identity Thief.
This year, acclaimed Irish singer and songwriter John Spillane celebrates 34 years of an ever-consistent vastly illuminating and exciting career within the world of music. Having sold more than 100,000 albums in Ireland, Spillane has also been awarded with two Meteor Irish Music Awards for Best Folk Act and Traditional Act. His songs have been covered by many Irish folk singers such as Christy Moore, Sean Keane, Karan Casey, Pauline Scanlon, Solas, Mary Black, Méav, Sinéad Lohan, and Sharon Shannon.
