Achill based Cllr Paul McNamara said this week, that's he's afraid that Achill is in danger of losing some of it's Blue Flag beaches in future because of the lack of services such as toilets and bins at some of the beaches.
Cllr McNamara raised the issue at the June meeting of the West Mayo Municipal District for the second month in a row. He outlined how on the Saturday of the June Bank Holiday weekend he went to Keel Beach after 12pm and the beach was packed with hundreds of people and the toilets weren't open and that it was only following some investigations by himeself that they were opened later that afternoon.
