Reports from the United States this week have suggested that United States vice president Joe Biden will be making a trip to Ireland later this summer with Mayo one of his destinations. The Irish Central news website, has reported that the vice president will be making a four day trip to Ireland with a visit to Mayo penciled in on this trip.
Vice president Biden has strong Irish roots especially in Mayo where his grandmother Geraldine Blewitt's family came from, he is expected to come to Ireland in June and meet Taoiseach Enda Kenny as part of the trip.
