Conway Walsh tops Agricultural Panel
Sinn Féin's Erris based representative Rose Conway Walsh was elected to Seanad this morning (Tuesday, April 26 ) on the first count. Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams said in the wake of the election that, "Rose has served as a Mayo county councillor since 2009 and will bring a wealth of experience and skill, particularly in her work in rural development, to the role of Seanadóir."

Swanick takes Seanad seat
While the formation of the next government continues behind closed doors this week, the counting in the Seanad elections is underway and Fianna Fáil's candidate on the Cultural and Education Panel, Belmullet based GP Keith Swanick took a seat in the upper house late last night (Monday, April 25 ) when the counting was done.
