Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring has announced that funding in the amount of €151,000 has been allocated to Rushbrook and Millbrook estates in Claremorris. Minister Ring said: “I am delighted to announce funding in the amount of €151,000 to complete works in respect of footpaths and lighting at Rushbrook and Millbrook estates in Claremorris.
“When these works are completed, this will link Rushbrook and Millbrook estates with the footpaths on the Ballinrobe Road in to Claremorris," he added. "Cllr Tom Connolly made strong representations to me in relation to this funding. I am delighted to now be in a position to allocate this funding. Following completion of these works, this will result in nearly all of the town of Claremorris being connected as a result of funding from Smarter Travel, Community Involvement Scheme, and supplementary funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport. There is now adequate footpaths and lighting in most areas of the town of Claremorris. This makes walking much safer for everyone especially children. Claremorris has undergone a wonderful revamp.”
