The Mayo Ladies senior football team picked up their sixth win in the league last weekend when they saw off the challenge of Tyrone by nine points in Killyclogher, that win cemented their place at the top of the table six points ahead of second placed Dublin.
This Sunday in Hollymount Frank Browne's charges will be fully expecting to make it seven from seven when they take on a Monaghan side who are heading for division two next year having just won one game from their six so far this season. Sarah Rowe hit top form for Mayo last Sunday when she scored seven points to spearhead their charge to victory.
Browne will be happy that Mayo picked up where they left off after the four week break that had preceded this contest, he will be pleased with the spread of scorers in last weekend's game, with Rowe being joined on the scoreboard by Aileen Gilroy who scored 1-1, Fiona McHale who chipped in with two points, and Cora Staunton also scored two points over the hour.
With Mayo already in the final four of the competition, they will be awaiting the outcome of the other games this weekend, Dublin look like they are going to definitely join them on scoring difference, while Armagh, Kerry, Cork and Galway are all battling it out for the final two spots in the play-offs over the weekend of April 23 and 24. Browne will be looking for Mayo to make it to the final which is pencilled in for May 7 in Parnell Park as Mayo will face a long lay off after the completion of the league until their next competitive fixture against Galway in Connacht final which will take place on July 3.
