Joan Freeman, Founder of suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House, will launch Darkness Into Light 2016 (DIL 2016 ) in association with Electric Ireland in The Ballina Manor Hotel, Mayo, this evening, Monday, April 4 at 7pm.
The DIL event is taking place on Saturday, May 7 and it is a unique, early morning fundraising event which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking. This year, Darkness Into Light will take place in over 100 locations in Ireland and abroad including the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The event will take place this year in Ballina, Shrule, Westport, Erris and Claremorris. Registration and route information for Darkness Into Light is available now at www.darknessintolight.ie and all are welcome to attend the launch in Mayo.
