Mayo will celebrate the centenary of the 1916 rising on Sunday, May 1 when Castlebar hosts a 1916 county parade and family fun day, which is being backed by Mayo County Council. The County Mayo 1916 commemoration parade and Family fun day, provides a great opportunity for communities and groups from all across Mayo to get involved.
All community groups who have a 1916 themed float are invited to take part in the parade, as are marching bands, and any other creative ideas from community groups to make this event really memorable.
