Strong team named for todays u21 clash

GAA: Connacht U21 Football Championship

New Mayo u21 manager Michael Solan has named a very strong looking team for his sides outing against Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday evening. The majority of this years crop of u21s were involved in the All Ireland minor winning campain three years ago with a number of players making the step up to the senior side in recent years.

Solan has gone for Balla's Matthew Flanagan in goal with a full back line marshalled by Seamus Cunniffee in the number three shirt with Eddie Doran and Ciaran Harrision flanking him on either side. The half-back line sees senior panalisits David Kenny and Michael Hall joined by Belmullett's James Kelly.

Senior man Stephen Coen partners Balla's Val Roughneen in the middle of the park, while the half forward line sees Conor Loftus wearing the marquee number 11 shirt, with Fergal Boland and last years young player of the year Diarmuid O'Connor in the number 12 shirt. Brian Reape will wear the number 14 shirt at full forward, with Fionan Duffy and Michael Plunkett either side of him.
