St Joseph’s bring back All Ireland title

GAA: Post Primary Schools Senior D Championship

There were great celebrations in east Mayo on Wednesday afternoon, when St Joseph’s Community School in Charlestown claimed victory in the All Ireland Post Primary Schools Post Primary D championship to bring the Br Edmund Ignatius Rice Cup back to Mayo.

They saw off the challenge of Iaelcholaiste Reachnann from Dublin in a hard-fought battle in Longford, winning out on a score of 1-13 to 2-7, with Keelan Horkan kicking 1-8 for the community school side, as they came back from two points down at the turn around.

Subs: Patrick Goldrick, Sean Dunleavy, Gary Horan and John Drudy.
