Fianna Fáil will hold a selection convention in Castlebar on Saturday night to fill the seat vacated on Mayo County Council following the election of Lisa Chambers to the Dáil in the recent general election.
Three people have put their names forward for selection for the seat, David Gallagher and Martin McLoughlin both from Castlebar and Marty O’Hora from Kiltimagh. Mayo County Council have arranged a special meeting of the council to take place this coming Monday, March 14 for the co-option of the selected candidate to the council.
The convention will take place in An Sportlann in Castlebar starting at 7pm.
