Mindfulness event in aid of Aware

Holistic wellness coach Sharon Fitzmaurice will run a one day workshop in The McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, in aid of Aware on Saturday April 2.

This event is open to everyone who deals with stress in any form of their daily lives. The essence of mindfulness is a slowing down to notice all the little things inside and around you without judgment. Learn simple and practical mindfulness techniques to help you on the day.

Mindfulness improves both mental and physical health. Research demonstrates that mindfulness can: improve our brain’s ability to process information; reduce brain-related problems in old age; strengthen our immune system; lift a person's mood and reduce stress.

Mindfulness can be practised by anyone at any time. It is for people who want to be more fully aware, improve their overall quality of life, be happier and live life to the full. On the day of the workshop, Sharon Fitzmaurice will be joined by two speakers: Marian Trench and Laura Burke. They will share their experiences of dealing with anxiety, emotional weight based issues, and how they recognised and dealt with it in their lives.

Registration starts from 9am with the workshop event running from 10am to 6pm. The cost of the event is €75 and this includes lunch, a 21 day worksheet, and entry into a raffle for gift vouchers donated by local businesses.
