Crossmolina school and community to host fundraising concert with James Kilbane

The Crossmolina National School and School Parents Association are staging a concert featuring leading Irish singer James Kilbane on Friday April 8 at St Tiernan’s Church, Crossmolina.

All proceeds raised from the event will go to Crossmolina National School. Special guests on the evening will be the Crossmolina school choir.

The current economic climate is placing extra pressure on Crossmolina’s NS. It is much harder to maintain and run the school with rising costs and pressures of lighting, heating, insurance, water charges and other general costs to maintain and keep doors open.

The funds that will be raised from the concert will be used to contribute towards purchasing additional recreational and playground equipment for the children. There is also a pressing need to upgrade technology systems at the school and to purchase vital new IT equipment for use by the children on a daily basis. In today’s educational system such equipment is crucial for modern day learning in our global world.

The Crossmolina community is looking forward to hosting James Kilbane for a great night of songs and music from ballad to anthem at St Tiernan’s Church. Kilbane will be including many of his popular country songs as well as many gospel favourites. His home grown and easy style now attracts people of all ages to his music. This will be a night of country music not to be missed.

Concert tickets are available from Munnellys Centra and Quinns Chemist in Crossmolina, and Barretts in Lahardane. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the parents association, from Louise on (089 ) 4258953, Karen on (087 ) 2155198, or Deirdre on (086 ) 8504221. All support will be appreciated and everyone is very welcome to attend.
