Barry Kirwan will emerge from behind the drum kit this spring as he joins his father, the legendary Dominic Kirwan, for their 'Here For A Good Time' concert tour, hitting Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday March 12.
Young Omagh man Barry, who is set to launch his own band this June, is excited about stepping out on front stage for the show.
Impossible to pigeon hole since he burst on the entertainment scene 27 years ago, Dominic Kirwan is one of Ireland's top entertainers. The Tyrone man is back with this all new concert show for 2016. He has toured with such artists as Charley Pride and Tammy Wynette but in his own right has made a name for himself with a string of hit singles, albums and sell out shows across two decades.
Comfortable with a country classic, ballad, or a rock and roll hit, fans young, old and new are really in for a treat. Dominic takes the audience on a stunning musical journey with his five piece band. He and son Barry are a novel pairing; few fathers and sons link up on stage let alone tour together. The duo, who also have a new single “Talking to the wrong man” and have released a new EP, are relishing the experience.
Barry has spent a decade as a drummer, first with his father’s band and most recently with Derek Ryan. He has been busy in the studio and will unveil a unique live set on this tour, whetting the appetite for his own launch later in the year.
The 'Here For A Good Time' tour will take in theatres all over Ireland and the UK.
The booking office is open from 12 noon to 6pm. Alternatively, book tickets at www.westporttheatre.com
