Two Mayo photographers took home awards at the 2016 IPPA Awards which were held in Dublin last Sunday. Ballina based photographer David Farrell won the Best Press and Photojournalism Photographer 2016 award, and Westport based snapper Michael McLaughlin took home the Best Landscape Photographer 2016 gong. McLaughlin also won the Single Image Award on the night at the ceremony which was held in Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin.
Tom Doherty, chairman of the IPPA Awards 2016, said: “The 2016 IPPA Awards Programme sponsored by Bank of Ireland, saw entries of the highest calibre from professional photographers across Ireland, judged anonymously over three heats, with the very best entries being recognised by the judges and awarded accordingly. Following the heats, the top photographers in each category were shortlisted for the finals and the results announced on Sunday night represent the cream of Irish photography and the quality of work that IPPA members offer clients all around the country.”
