Fancy taking up a challenge for Lent? How about choosing smarter travel for your daily journeys and not only will you feel the health, economic and environment benefits but you could also win an island adventure with Adventure West, tickets for a Bike Buffet or a team dinner in a Westport restaurant.
Team members will try to choose smarter travel modes of transport as often as they can each week. Every Monday the team captain must send on the number of Smarter Travel journeys completed by the team to Westport Smarter Travel. Smarter travel options include walking, cycling, carpooling, Park n’ Stride or public transport.
Find yourself a team of four to six people (it could be family, friends, work colleagues, etc ), choose a name, nominate a team captain and register your interest by emailing [email protected]. Registered teams will receive an online information pack including record book, smarter travel information and terms and conditions.
Results will be posted online weekly and the team that has made the most smarter travel journeys over the seven weeks of Lent will claim the title of Westport’s Smartest Travel Team and will win the grand prize of an Island Adventure with Adventure West. Runners up prizes include team tickets for a Bike Buffet and a team dinner in a Westport restaurant. Winners will be announced in early April.
