The final line up for the popular Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair has been announced and Nephin Distillery, Lahardane, has been confirmed as an exhibitor. The three-day event will host the best of Irish and International craft breweries and distilleries, from Friday February 5 to Sunday February 7.
John Neilly has been practicing the craft of cooperage for more than 45 years and is the last remaining master cooper in Ireland. He works with Nephin Distillery in Mayo to handcraft or repair casks in a real cooperage environment. He is currently trying to revive this lost tradition and carries out demonstrations to teach people about the history of casks, the art of coopering and the process of refurbishing and repairing barrels with interesting stories from all over the world. He will be demonstrating his craft at the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair in the Convention Centre Dublin over the weekend of events.
