Taoiseach confirms payment of almost €600,000 made to IWAK

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny confirmed on Tuesday evening that a payment of €598,349 has been made to Ireland West Airport Knock this evening,

Speaking on Tuesday the Taoiseach said "The funding is provided under the Public Policy Remit Core Airport Management Operational and Expenditure Subvention for 2015. It is a fantastic facility for the Western region and both I, Minister of State Ring and Deputies John O'Mahony and Michelle Mulherin have been working with the airport for the last number of years to secure it's future.

"I am delighted that last year was the Airports busiest on record and I want to compliment the board and staff of the airport as well as the local authorities who have given significant support.

The payment of €598,349 was made this evening (January 5 ) and emphasises this Government's commitment to the Ireland West Airport Knock."
