Mundy has announced the release of his fourth studio album. Strawberry Blood will be released in Ireland on April 17 and simultaneously online worldwide on the same date. Strawberry Blood follows on from the multi platinum selling releases Live & Confusion (2006 ), Raining Down Arrows (2004 ), 24 Star Hotel (2000 ), and Jelly Legs (1996 ).
Strawberry Blood was recorded in Grouse Lodge, produced by Joe Chester, and mixed by Joe Chester and Andy Bradfield (who mixed Teddy Thompson’s A Piece Of What You Need and David Gray’s Life in Slow Motion ). To celebrate the release of Strawberry Blood, Mundy and band will play a special one off show in Moka, Castlebar, next Tuesday. Mundy has just set up a dedicated Mundy YouTube channel, located at www.youtube.com/mundyirl, which features lots of Mundy exclusives including a new album studio update, and a performance of the Townes Van Zandt track ‘Loretta’ recorded in Mundy's bedroom! There are also some live tracks from Oxegen 2008 including ‘Gin and Tonic Sky’ and ‘Galway Girl’. Mundy also talks about his the new track ‘I Miss The Country’, which features on the forthcoming album.
